Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve!! We went outside before it got dark to put out our reindeer food. Of course Jenna was trying to eat it off the ground. She is walking everywhere and is too cute! We then headed inside to make our cupcakes for baby Jesus' birthday.

I woke up this morning determined to get my Christmas list checked off.
So finished my Christmas cards-check! I then proceed out to finish the Christmas shopping so 4 hours later-check! I even got to enjoy a divine peppermint white chocolate mocha-check!! Here is a preview of the Christmas card. My good friend Cookie took these and did a great job.

Santa's Village

We went to Santa's village Thursday with Nana and Granddaddy. We really tried to talk up Santa but when it came down to it Nate and Jenna did not want anything to do with the old guy!!

I was trying to see how much success I could have with capturing a Christmas picture tonight so I let the kiddos play with the candy canes on the tree.

A Jog in Memphis

Brian and I ran the St. Jude 1/2 Marathon and Marathon today. It was fun but I am so glad that it is over! I am sure that you can figure out that he ran the full and I ran the half!! Nate, Nanny and Pa were there to cheer us on. Jenna stayed with Moma. Brian's cousin John and cousin in law Tim also ran the full so it was a family event. Nate, Nanny and Pa all spent the night last night with John and Lisa and their boys. Brian and I got to spend last night with our friends Keith and Danyelle and their precious boy Conner. I am off to get in a hot bath if I can ever get out of this chair!!

Good Times!

Last night Brian and I were sitting on the floor having a conversation ( which should have been our first clue that something was up) and Jenna came crawling out of her room. Brian asked "Does she have a bow in her hair?" I said no, why? Well as you can see her sweet big brother decided that it was time for Jenna to try something new with her hair. She has about half a jar of Vaseline on her head. It was really funny until an hour later when we were still trying to get it out. Needless to say she has the gel look and will have it for a few days I am sure.

A year ago

One year ago this very night I went to bed thinking am I ever going to have this baby!! Then about 11:30 that night I began having contractions. As the night went on I was up and down out of bed until finally I was sitting in bed and Brian rolled over and said "do you realize that they are every 5 minutes?" I honestly thought he was asleep but he had been laying there timing them! We decided we should start getting ready to go to the hospital. We called our wonderful friend Amanda at 2 in the morning and she came over to stay with Nate. After many trips up and down the hospital hallways and even a warm shower Jenna Claire decided to join us. She was born at 8:50 that morning. I can't believe that she is already one.

Jenna's Party

We spend Thanksgiving in Nashville and had Jenna's birthday party there on Saturday. She enjoyed this one! I didn't get any pictures of her with her cake that Nanny made her but I think that Auntie did.

Randomness

I am not sure that is even a word but it describes the pictures below! And speaking of random... My friend Holly and I were taking advantage of the beautiful weather this afternoon by taking a walk with the kids and on the way back home a man came out of his house and said Hey girls can I talk to you a minute. So immediately we are wondering what he wants with us! He began telling us that he has a friend that he e-mails everyday in England and he has been telling him how great the weather is and he wanted to know if he could take a picture of us to send him! Okay so as he went in the house to get his camera we starting laughing because we were thinking surely he can't he a weirdo because here we are two moms not showered and can't remember if we had brushed out teeth! He thanked us and told us we would be on our way to England that night. The beauty of the Internet.

Jenna's Almost Birthday

We celebrated Thanksgiving this weekend with my parents and decided to Happy Birthday Jenna early. We are going to have her party at her Nanny and Pa's house Thanksgiving weekend. She was not too sure about the cake but she looked so cute in her crown!

Halloween Cuties

Never say...

Never say that your day can not get any worse!!!! Friday was just one of those days. Our sweet Jenna has been sick for the past few days so she has not been sleeping well. Therefore neither has mommy. We took her to the doctor on Thurs and Friday she just did not want to let go of mommy. That is fine until you throw her active brother in the mix so Friday was finding creative ways to play with him and ride her on my hip. At about 3 the doctor called to let us know to start her medicine so we were getting ready to head to the pharmacy to pick it up. Well my too smart boy locked the doors on the car and when I got both of them strapped in the car, I shut the door! So there they are strapped in and locked in. I tried not the go into panic mood but I was quickly approaching this emotion!!! I asked Nate to unlock the door ( he can reach the lock with his foot) to this he replies no mommy do it. Calmly I say no mommy needs you to and this conversation continues. I then pulled out the incentive - reese's. I told him that I would give him a piece of candy if he would unlock the door for mommy. I then added that I might even give him two! So this got him motivated and the door was opened. Lesson learned! Then we traipse into target get the medicine and are on the way home when mommy looks up and sees the cop car! Yes I got pulled over. He asked me if there was a family emergency-I guess I could have given him my sob story about my day but hey I was speeding and just ready to get home. The funny part comes when I look in the rear view mirror and at the red light sits my sweet husband trying to figure out if this is his wife or not. So I just leaned forward and waved. As I walked in the door I said don't ever say this day can not get worse! Being the great man that he is he said you go do what you need to I got the kids. I think he knew that I was ready to give it up!! Needless to say the weekend has been much better:)

We spent yesterday afternoon celebrating our nephew's 4th birthday. I am sure that everyone else at that party thought we were nuts because we were snapping pictures left and right!
