Busted

This morning I couldn't find Jenna. As I walked in her room I heard the sweet sounds of someone enjoying her mimi. She only gets it at naptime and at bed so she must have had a stash under the bed. Well tonight after her bath I went back in her room and she had done the same thing! She must really think she is pulling one over on us. Toddler -2 Mommy-0!!

We had scubetti as Nate calls it the other night and Jenna really enjoyed it! It is so hot outside that we have been having craft time. Quite interesting. Hope everyone is staying cool:)

More summer fun

We went to play at a friend's house today and they have a slip n slide. Jenna who is usually not a fan of the sprinkler type things loved it!


They also double as drinking fountains!

Sweet Addie

Dave, Marla, and Addie came to see us today on their travels through the South! Nate and Jenna both were very interested in her. We had to remind Jenna that we are gentle with babies and Nate was even trying to give her back her paci! He asked me about 3 times this afternoon "Now what was that baby's name?"

Bringing the goods

" A women of noble character is like the merchant ships..."Proverbs 31:14
I was flipping through an old bible study (conversational peace) and this verse jumped out at me. I don't remember it from going through the study. A merchant ship was used to carry goods versus a war ship that is used to carry fighting men. They were comparing this to our tongues. Wow. I am pretty sure that my tongue has carried more fighting words than goods lately. Isn't it crazy that something as small as our mouths can get us into more trouble that we can dig out of. There are so many times in the day that I think why did I say that. Was my filter not on right then?! Emily Dickinson said that "A word is dead when it is said, some say. I say it just begins to live." So true. I can remember things that people said to me years ago as if I had just heard them yesterday. What a testimony to the gospel we have in keeping our mouths and hearts in check. I know that this is one area that I struggle with and hope that as sisters in Christ we can learn to build up one another and not tear down. May we be merchant ships today and only bring in the good!!

Oh and p.s. I left my camera at mom's so that is the reason for no pictures:)

Oh the chair

A friend asked me one time "So what do you do all day?" I wanted to say are you really asking me this? I kinda laughed it off but many days that question returns to my mind. There are days when I feel extremely productive then there are days when I look at the clock and think it is only 10:00 ! Those days it seems I can't get the pb & j spread fast enough. I then turn to the place for me that offers quietness and a moment to get it together. My chair. As you can see above it is not fancy and even after a few minutes not totally comfortable but it is there. It is not a fancy sanctuary but the Lord often meets me here. He doesn't care that I haven't showered or that I am wearing the same thing that I did yesterday, He is thrilled to see me. I like meeting Him there, I mean it is the season of life that I am in and I want Him to see that I praise Him for placing me in it. So where are you meeting Him? Is it in the quietness of morning or the late hours of night? Is it in the grocery line or waiting in the car? He doesn't care just as long as we meet Him there.
