Our girl is 6!!

 Our sweet girl turned 6 yesterday. 

 The whole fam ate lunch with her as requested:)

 After school we had a little impromptu birthday party at the park.  The weather was beautiful.

Nanny and Pa are coming in this weekend and we are heading out for an adventure in Dallas.  We are taking our birthday girl to the American Girl doll store.  I am sure it will be a day to remember!

Elf Update

 Miss J lost her first tooth Sat night.  She was so excited.  When she woke up Sunday morning she discovered that Rodger had slipped in her room and took her tooth fairy money! 

 Yesterday was J's birthday so Rodger couldn't wait for the kiddos to wake up! He went ahead and helped himself to a birthday doughnut.

This morning we discovered him reading the Christmas story to the nativity scene.  I told him it was kinda like preaching to the choir but he just sat there and smiled.  
I telling you I may need an elf intervention after Christmas.  Too much fun!!

Rodger the Elf

Our elf arrived this morning!  The kiddos have named him Rodger.  I have no clue where that came from.  He brought with him new christmas plates, a sucker and some chocolate. Daddy read them the story and then we had a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate to celebrate his arrival.  Welcome to the crew Rodger!!

Thankful

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  One of those things is this cool kiddo, Matthew.  Well he is not really a kiddo but a college student that we adopted through our college ministry at church.  He spent the day with us yesterday and we are so blessed to be given the chance to get to know this guy.  It really is a shame that our kiddos are not that fond of him:)

A little sewing..

I am sooo excited about my new sewing table!!!  I showed my sweet father in law a picture off of Pinterest and viola..my new sewing table!  I am blessed beyond measure, no pun intended :)

 So I here are a few projects that I have made for sis.  I have had this top for a while but did not know what I wanted to do.  I love this little owl and have used it several times.  The material came from a huge stash that I scored from Sis this summer.

And of course we had to have a turkey.  I know it looks like a ribbon explosion but you know we are in Texas the home of bigger is better! 
I can't believe that the holiday season is already here.  Our sweet girl has a birthday next week and I am just in denial that she is about to be 6.

This weekend was Homecoming for our little community.  They only have it every three years so it is a huge deal.  The kiddos were apart of the parade and it was amazing to see practically the whole town lining the street.  I had that "Small Town" song running through my head the whole time!

Oh what a difference a year makes...

I can't believe that it has been one year since we said goodbye to our Tennessee life and hello to this new Texas adventure.  Last year Halloween was one of the hardest days for me.  I missed home, I missed my friends and family, and I know that I went to bed with tears in my eyes on that night.  Well tonight I fought the tears all night but it was the " look how blessed we are" ones! My kitchen was full of friends, loud kiddos, and food.  I just kept hearing my sister's voice saying "He has a plan Kelly, He always has a plan"  

          Yes it looks like they are throwing gang signs!

This sweet boy and I went to our MOPS playdate at our neighbor's house.  

This sweet fairy went trick or treating with us tonight. Are you dying over the cuteness, I was.
