East Texas Balloon Race

We had a busy day yesterday!  We started out doing a little school shopping with the kiddos.  We then headed out to the Great East Texas Balloon Race.  It was so much fun.  It was basically a fair with hot air balloons.  The kiddos loved it.  We did too. 

                                     

At dark they lit up all the balloons for a balloon glow.  It was beautiful.  I have a feeling this will become an annual trip for my crew!

Enjoying Summertime

Well I have been on a blog hiatus! We have been enjoying our summertime.  We left at the end of June on the way to Tennessee.  This was my first trip by myself with the trio.  They were wonderful! I have been blessed with great car riders.  We stayed for 2 weeks.  Half the time we were with auntie and the other half we stayed in Nashville with Nanny and Pa.  During that time I got to get in a little girl time with some college buddies, we got in play time with the Parsons and Ms. Amanda too.  We also spent a day in Ky with my grandmother and all the cousins.  On the way home we stopped back at Auntie's and picked up H and Nana.  Auntie drove in later.  Needless to say we spent last week trying to get our groove back! 

Sweet H was baptized while we were there.  I love this picture.  Can you see how interested the two on the front row are?!

Auntie gave J diving lessons.

 While we were out my sweet husband painted our kitchen.  I love it!!  So I had to get working on new window treatments.  For these windows I decided to do faux Roman shades.  I used a tutorial off of Pinterest where they used tension rods to give it that look.

For my big window I made a cornice board (with the help of hubs).

This little cabinet came out of Brian's grandmother's kitchen.  I switched out the hardware so it now has a little blue in it also.

These frames are going in my half bath off the kitchen.  They were around 3 dollars at Micheals. I painted them and used a little modpodge and voila! New frames!

This dress was my vacation project.  My BF Cassie pleated it for me and I smocked away while we were in Nashville.  I finished it up when we got home and I am happy to report that she has asked me every day to wear it, success in my book:)

We are getting ready for Nanny and Pa to come visit in a few days.  Then it will be time to get ready for school.  I can not believe that my girl will start this year.  I have my big sunglasses ready to hide the tears!
