Grace

I have, like many these days, been thinking about all the news that is floating around us. Someone losing their baby or a parent or tragic accidents that no one could see coming and wondering what if that were me, could I cope with that. I found this quote and it seemed to answer some of the questions I have been asking myself...
“God has not promised to give us the grace to face all of the desperate situations that we might imagine finding ourselves in. He has promised to sustain us only in the ones that he actually brings us into. He therefore doesn’t promise that we will be able to imagine how we could go through the fire for his sake, but he does promise that if he leads us through the fire, he will give us sufficient grace at that time. Like manna, grace is not something that can be stored up for later use: each day receives its own supply” (Iain Duguid, Daniel, p. 53).
It gives me hope to know that those who are in the fire are not alone and when someday I find myself in the fire, He will be leading. So I hope that if you are reading this and you don't have that hope you will find it in the Savior that longs to walk in the fire with you.
